Ayer Keroh is a town in the state of Malacca that draws in a lot of tourists. Its economy is supported by its two industrial areas, Ayer Keroh Industrial Area and Taman Tasik Utama Industrial Area, and tourism.

Its tourism industry is booming due to its many attractions. The Aborigines Museum building itself, is designed as a replica of natives houses and showcases the heritage and lifestyle of native Malaysians. World's Bees Museum displays 250 different specimens of bee hives and hornet nests, a bee man show and bee keeping. Melaka Bird Park is a massive open aviary bird park hosting about 700 native bird species that can be observed from a canopy walk in a setting of natural greens.

Mini Malaysia & ASEAN Cultural Park represents the 13 states through replicas of traditional homes furnished depending on the culture of each state. Its an ideal way to learn about Malaysian culture and also to learn Malaysian traditional games like congkak. Melaka Wonderland Theme Park & Resort is a water theme park with high speed thrilling rides perfect to cool off and just have some fun. Butterfly and Reptile Sanctuary is called home by beautiful varieties of butterflies, colorful fish, iguanas, crocodiles, a range of snakes and a pair of golden leopards. Other attractions include Ayer Keroh Lake, Garden of Thousand Flowers, Malacca Botanical Garden, Malacca Planetarium, Melaka Batik House, Malacca Crocodile Farm and Malacca Zoo.

Many local and international students come for the higher education facilities provided by Malacca-Manipal Medical College, Multimedia University campus and Technical University of Malaysia Malacca campus. Pantai Hospital Ayer Keroh provides medical services. The best shopping destinations are Melaka Fashion City in Melaka International Trade Center, AEON Melaka Store & Shopping Centre and Mydin Hypermarket. Ayer Keroh Golf & Country Club is also located in the vicinity.

Primary access to Ayer Keroh is via the Ayer Keroh Toll on the North-South Expressway making  entry possible from all parts of Peninsular Malaysia. It is approximately a two hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. Flights connecting locally and internationally come through Malacca International Airport which is only a ten minute drive from Ayer Keroh.
