Pandan Indah is a major township located between Ampang and Cheras, and is governed by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ). Some notable residential area include Pandan Jaya, Taman Shamelin Perkasa and Taman Maluri.

The extension of Besraya’s Lebuhraya Sungai Besi has helped to ease the traffic from the rather congested Jalan Pandan Indah. For public transport, there is the Pandan Indah LRT station and RapidKL buses.
Amenities and Facilities
Some public amenities available are Mid-Point Shopping Centre, AEON Jusco, Tesco Ampang, Fiesta, 1Shamelin and various retails shops, schools and clinics. Pandan Indah is well known for food, from hawkers to resturants carrying local, Korea and Thai fares. Some famous ones include Kow Siew Sang Har Mee (fresh water prawns in eggy noodles), New Twenty-twenty Kopitiam, Udon-ya San, Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee, Kheong Kee Bak Kut Teh, Aroy-Aroy Thai and Fougasse Boulangerie & Patisserie.
