KL Wellness City launches tertiary hospital as part of the township’s first phase

• KL International Tertiary Hospital will have an estimated development value of RM1 billion. Substructure works have been completed and construction works of the main buildings is currently underway. The hospital is expected to complete in 2Q2026 and to open in 3Q2026.

KUALA LUMPUR (May 3): KL Wellness City Sdn Bhd, through KL International Hospital Sdn Bhd, has launched KL International Tertiary Hospital as part of the first phase of the KL Wellness City township in Bukit Jalil here on Thursday (May 2).

In a statement on Thursday, KL International Tertiary Hospital will have an estimated development value of RM1 billion. Substructure works have been completed and construction works of the main buildings is currently underway. The hospital is expected to complete in 2Q2026 and to open in 3Q2026.

“This visionary development augurs well and complements the government’s vision and effort to be the world’s leading medical and healthcare one-stop centre. I’m pleased to see a strong commitment in investing and leveraging on information and communications technology (ICT) within the hospital, in its quest to be equipped with the first and best medical innovation, including robotics in Malaysia,” said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad at the launching event.

“As we launch the hospital within KL Wellness City, we’re constructing not just a state-of-the-art facility but infusing it with cutting-edge healthcare ecosystems. This development represents our commitment to enhancing the standard of living through integrated wellness and healthcare, setting a new benchmark for medical excellence in Malaysia, as well as Southeast Asia. Our aim is clear: to redefine the boundaries of healthcare, attract top-tier medical talent and provide unparalleled patient care,” said KL Wellness City managing director Datuk Dr Colin Lee at the event.

The hospital aims to attract leading specialists to enhance care and artificial intelligence (AI) to minimise waiting time for patients. The hospital will feature 22 operating theatres, which include provisions for robotic surgery and two hybrid operating theatres. It will cater to 624 beds and has the ability to accommodate up to 1,000 beds.

In addition, KL International Hospital Sdn Bhd has pledged to donate RM2 million for the medical needs of the B40 community in Malaysia, following the launch of the Health Equity For Affordable and Rapid Treatment (HEART) programme by the Ministry of Health. The programme offers free treatment to patients from government hospitals.
