KUALA LUMPUR (June 1): Glomac Bhd has appointed Lembaga Tabung Haji group managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Seri Johan Abdullah as an alternate director to its non-independent non-executive director Datuk Seri Panglima Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Glomac said the appointment is effective today.

The pilgrimage fund owns 10.29% stake or 74.41 million shares in Glomac.

Other than Glomac, Johan also hold directorships in TH Plantation Bhd and TH Heavy Engineering Bhd.

Before assuming CEO office in Lembaga Tabung Haji in January 2015, Johan was the group managing director and CEO of BIMB Holdings Bhd since May 2008.

Abdul Azeez, on the other hand, is a Member of Parliament for Baling and also a member of UMNO Supreme Council since 2008, as well as the executive chairman of Yayasan Pembangunan Rakyat Baling, Kedah.

Glomac's share price rose by 0.5 sen or 0.72% to 69.5 sen at market break today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM502.45 million. — theedgemarkets.com
