PETALING JAYA (July 24): Grandeur Labs in Eco Grandeur City, Puncak Alam has seen its first tenant — INK Library Café — open its door to welcome the public last Sunday.

Grandeur Labs is part of the 200-acre Eco Grandeur City, the commercial component of the 1,400-acre Eco Grandeur township, which has a gross development value of RM9 billion.

With 15 retail lots and a built-up of 1,000 sq ft each, Grandeur Labs will see the opening of a bike park that is scheduled for completion in mid-2018 alongside other retail offerings and F&B outlets.

The newly opened INK Library Café is a fresh and new concept café that offers over 300 imported magazines for avid readers to enjoy a good read as well as good coffee. The café also displays and sells an array of arts and crafts made by local talents.

Eco World Development World Group Bhd president and CEO Datuk Chang Khim Wah said the opening of the café will attract more people to read and enjoy the various types of imported magazines and in return will be able to gain more knowledge.

“The reading habit must be cultivated from young and we hope that we are able to encourage the youths to read more with this café,” he said in a press statement.

Meanwhile, EcoWorld also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Singapore-based oBike Malaysia Sdn Bhd to provide a stationless smart-bike-sharing system to EcoWorld developments.

With this collaboration, Eco Grandeur will be the first EcoWorld project to kick-start the smart-bike-sharing system.

oBike operates in 10 countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia, the UK, Switzerland and Netherland.

Chang said the cycling trend is going strong and it is pleasing to see more people joining in the fun as it is in line with the company’s mission to promote a healthy lifestyle to its communities.

“We have also provided a bicycle-for-hire scheme and this is already available in our Eco Botanic project in Iskandar Malaysia. In the Klang Valley, Eco Sanctuary boasts a 30km cycling path for its residents,” he added.

The 1.3-acre bike park in Eco Grandeur will start operating concurrently with the rest of the 15 retail outlets in Grandeur Labs by May 2018.
