KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 1): Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd's outstanding orderbook stands at RM2.6 billion as at March 31, 2017, according to its chairman Datuk Tee Eng. 

In a statement today, Tee said the company's net cash position stood at RM147.08 million. 

Kerjaya Prospek also announced today that its 70%-owned subsidiary Future Rock Sdn Bhd has accepted a letter of award from China Communications Construction Company (M) Sdn Bhd for a sub-construction job in Penang worth RM45.95 million.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Kerjaya Prospek said Future Rock will be undertaking a “perimeter bund” job for Phase 2B of the Seri Tanjung Pinang Phase 2 Project, which is expected to commence for a duration of 10 months, commencing from July 27, 2017 and ending on May 26, 2018.

“The subcontract shall be executed within 30 calendar days after the execution of this letter of award,” Kerjaya Prospek said, adding the contract will further increase and enhance its existing order book.

According to Kerjaya Prospek, this is its fifth contract win for the year, bringing the total contract win to RM426 million year-to-date.

“This contract is our second infrastructure job and shows that we have the capabilities to undertake more jobs of this nature,” Tee said.

Listed on the Main Market since 1996, shares in Kerjaya Prospek paused 3 sen or 0.81% lower at RM3.68 during noon-break today, with 190,800 shares done for a market capitalisation of RM1.91 billion. — theedgemarkets.com
