KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 28): The 39-storey Aurora and Basalta towers @ Eco Sky located in Taman Wahyu will be handed over this year-end, said Eco World Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld) president and CEO Datuk Chang Khim Wah.

“Eco Sky is a very special project for us. It is our first project in the Klang Valley, which was launched in 2013. Everything about EcoWorld started here in this project. So, we will make sure the project is handed over at its best quality,” said Chang at the press conference after the Aurora tower topping out ceremony held today.

The 9.6-acre freehold Eco Sky development has a gross development value (GDV) of RM970 million. It consists of three residential towers – Aurora, Basalta and Clarita, a 2.72-acre park, 144 retail and office lots as well as a commercial pod.

The 39-storey Aurora is the first tower to reach the top while the second tower, Basalta, has also reached the top at 39 storeys.

The third tower, Clarita, is expected to reach the top of 41 storeys in 2018 and its handover is expected by April next year.

“The overall take-up for the residential towers is 85%,” Chang said, adding that the selling price for the units start from RM700,000.

The retail office component was handed over in December 2016. Notable tenants such as Donutes, GTC Bridal, The One Lemon Fish Restaurant, Manulife, Mynews.com and KK Mart have moved in since then.

“More than 10 shops have opened and all the shop units are taken up. We believe all the shops will be occupied very soon,” Chang noted.

EcoWorld also spent RM3 million to enhance and improve the surrounding area of Eco Sky, such as rejuvenating the landscape of the 2.72-acre neighbouring public green, as well as constructing a new covered walkway to connect the project to the Taman Wahyu KTM station. Both works are completed and opened to public since August 2015 and December 2016 respectively.

Commenting on the RM4 billion EcoWorld group sales target, Chang is confident of achieving it with three upcoming launches: Eco Business Park 5, Eco Horizon and Eco Forest; and other existing projects on sale.

In conjunction with EcoWorld’s on-going #AnakAnakMalaysia campaign, the event also saw the raising of the Jalur Gemilang.

Two custom-made 55m long Malaysian flags were hung from the top of Aurora tower to celebrate Malaysia’s 60th year of independence.
