PETALING JAYA (Nov 6): Country Garden Pacificview Sdn Bhd, the master developer of Forest City in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor, has soft launched its Forest City Golf Hotel and new show units of landed homes in a golf resort development under phase 2 of Forest City.

Dubbed Forest City Golf Resort, the development consists of the hotel, three golf courses and a mix of residences comprising apartments and villas to be built at a total cost of RM1.8 billion.

In a media statement released following the soft launch of the hotel and show units yesterday, Country Garden Pacificview executive director Datuk Mohd Othman Yusof said besides attracting tourists and golfers to the new tourist icon, the development will also provide job opportunities to the locals.

“The establishment of these new developments will spell good news for the locals as there will be a total of 460 job opportunities from the hotel and the golf courses. To date, we have a total number of 85 hotel staff while the first golf course is 100% run by locals. More will be employed when the hotel is completed,” he added.

Meanwhile, the first residential phase of the Forest City Golf Resort development will comprise 202 units of 2- and 3-storey cluster homes as well as semi-detached units with sizes ranging from 2,034 to 6,975 sq ft. The properties, pegged from RM1.38 million onwards, are built near a natural water feature that cuts across the golf course.

When fully completed by October 2019, the first phase low-density residential enclave is expected to have only a total population of about 1,300 residents. The residential enclave caters to golf aficionados from here, Singapore and international homebuyers.

The 5-star Forest City Golf Hotel consists of 305 rooms priced from RM300 per night. There will be a ballroom that can cater to 400 persons, a free-form swimming pool and kids’ pool.

The hotel, which is targeting guests from Malaysia, China, Singapore and Korea, also features a restaurant that serves international and local cuisines.

The hotel is expected to be completed by the first half of 2018 while the first golf course will be completed by the second half of 2018. A 9.6km road linking the hotel from Forest City will be ready by 2019.
