KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 7): Nexgram Bhd saw the the resignation of two of its board members, namely its chairman Datuk Sri Wira Ayub Haji Yaakob and deputy chairman Tuan Haji Norzain Abdul Wahab, yesterday.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Nexgram said Ayub, 63 and Norzain, 51, had both resigned on Nov 3 to pursue personal interests and goals.

Ayub had been the chairman of Nexgram which is involved in information technology-related businesses and property development since Dec 11, 2014; while Norzain has been the deputy chairman since June 15 last year.

The group announced the redesignation of Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai, 62, as the new executive chairman. Lim, a former politician who is also the chairman of Jiankun International Bhd and Advance Information Marketing Bhd, was appointed to the board of Nexgram as an executive director on Oct 12.

Lim was involved in politics from 1995 to 2013, having held top governmental roles as deputy minister of finance (2010 to 2013), deputy minister of tourism (2006 to 2008) and deputy minister of information (2003 to 2006).

He is also a substantial shareholder in Ire-Tex Corp Bhd, a Penang-based packaging company, with a 10.03% stake. — theedgemarkets.com
