KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 10): The Department of Occupational Safety and Health (Dosh) has issued a stop-work order on the construction works at a project site in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur after a crane fell and crashed onto a vehicle yesterday.

Bernama reported that a worker was handling the tower crane when its luffing boom collapsed.

A worker and two members of the public were hurt in the accident, Dosh said in a statement today. The department said it viewed such incidents seriously when they involved members of the public.

Dosh said legal action would be taken if it was found that the responsible parties have flouted the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and the Factories and Machinery Act 1967.
