PETALING JAYA (Nov 19): Jalan Medang Tanduk at Bukit Bandaraya, Bangsar, has reopened following a landslide caused by a slope retaining wall collapsing at 11.40pm last night.

Bukit Bandaraya Residents Association advisor Datuk Mumtaz Ali said the debris had been cleared earlier today; however, the slope was still exposed as at 2.30pm.

“What I think they should do is to at least cover it with a plastic sheet or some other covering,” he told EdgeProp.my over the phone.

He noted that representatives from Kumpulan Ikram Sdn Bhd were at the site, but were unable to provide a cause to the land slide or a timeline for investigations to be concluded.

“They suggested I speak to Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur. I will be contacting them tomorrow morning for updates,” he said.

Jalan Medang Tanduk was temporarily closed late last night after the landslide.

"The situation is dangerous due to earth movement and stones falling. Furthermore, there is construction work going on in the area involving a condominium project on top of the hill," said a Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) spokesman.

However, no casualties were reported in the late-night incident, said the department in a Bernama report today.
