PETALING JAYA (Jan 8): Sime Darby Property Bhd has unveiled the new Elmina Interchange to give its City of Elmina township residents and Guthrie Corridor Expressway users better access to various parts of the city and its surrounding areas and improve traffic during peak hours.

According to a press release, the Elmina Interchange — in which Sime Darby Property invested RM66 million — will be opened to the public at 10pm today.

The launch of the interchange was officiated by Malaysian Highway Authority director general Datuk Haji Ismail Md. Salleh, accompanied by Secretary of Development and Implementation for Ministry of Works Datuk Embok Masek Md Taher, Prolintas Group chief executive officer Datuk Mohammad Azlan Abdullah and Sime Darby Property chief operating officer Datuk Wan Hashimi Albakri Wan Ahmad Amin Jaffri.

“Connectivity is a hallmark of Sime Darby Property developments and reinforces the strength of our townships, apart from being self-sustainable and positioned in strategic locations,” said Wan Hashimi Albakri.

“It serves as a catalyst for the growth of our townships and communities, elevating our value proposition.

“We would like to thank the Malaysian Highway Authority and Prolintas for enhancing the City of Elmina’s connectivity through the Elmina Interchange, and we are pleased to contribute by completing vital road networks at the township,” he added.

The Elmina Interchange, located at Exit 3504 of the Guthrie Corridor Expressway, was built by Prolintas and completed when the expressway was opened to the public.

Sime Darby Property had spent about RM22 million building new roads connecting the townships of Denai Alam and Bukit Subang to Elmina West at the City of Elmina leading to the interchange and subsequently the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE).

The developer also invested RM44 million in roads connecting Subang Bestari to the GCE through Elmina East.

The 5,000-acre City of Elmina has an estimated GDV of RM27 billion and includes the Denai Alam, Bukit Subang, Elmina East and Elmina West townships.

It features the 300-acre Elmina Central Park and a 90km cycling and jogging track that is one of the longest of its kind in Malaysia.

According to Sime Darby Property, upcoming launches at the City of Elmina for 2018 include 2-storey link homes and semi-detached homes in Denai Alam and the second phase of Elmina Green double-storey link homes in Elmina West.
