IGP expects Felda probe papers to be submitted to AGC by next week

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 12): The police are expected to submit to the Attorney-General's Chambers their investigation paper on the alleged transfer of Federal Land Development Authority (pictured) (Felda)-owned land along Jalan Semarak by next week, said inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun, the news portal Malaysiakini reported today.

"The investigation is still ongoing. We expect to make a submission to the AG's office possibly next week," he said.

"Our officers are working seriously on this. (Submission) maybe at the end of next week," he added. 

It was reported last month that Felda is in danger of losing ownership of a piece of land worth up to RM270 million along Jalan Semarak, as a result of a “dubious deal” that took place about two years ago.

The land is supposed to be for the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC) development project which will comprise seven towers, including Felda’s KLVC Tower1A.

The police has set up a special team to investigate the issue.

Last week, former Felda chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad was called in by the police to provide his statement at Bukit Aman over the probe into the land transfer.

Meanwhile, a forensic audit on the KLVC project being developed by Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd on the Jalan Semarak land is also being carried out.

The appointed audit firm had been given the responsibility to carry out forensic audit of all activities related to the implementation of the project, especially the transfer of the ownership of the Felda land title to the project developer.
