SHAH ALAM (Jan 16): Sime Darby Property (SD Property) announced today the entry of the Ministry of Youth & Sports in its initiative towards achieving Transformasi Nasional 2050 (TN50) aspirations through the development of the City of Elmina — a model township for the future.

Through this collaboration, SD Property has named the 36-acre Elmina Community Park as “Elmina TN50 Community Park” to support the aspirations collected during the TN50 youth initiative on sustainability, which include greener, affordable housing and high-quality living standards.

SD Property group managing director Datuk Seri Amrin Awaluddin said this is part of the group’s efforts to support the country’s vision of becoming a top 20 nation in economic development, social advancement and innovation by 2050.

“We are pleased to play a key role in supporting this long-term initiative for the future of the nation.

“Our sustainable and innovative developments in the City of Elmina is testament to our efforts in offering a model township for the wellness and healthy lifestyle of future generations,” Amrin said during the launch and renaming of Elmina Community Park at City of Elmina township.

He said it is also part of the group’s master plan to maximise the full potential of green spaces, as well as affordable, sustainable living, excellent connectivity, while creating smart and safe city in line with TN50 vision for the future.

The City of Elmina is dedicated to wellness and liveability sprawling across a 5,000-acre freehold township development by SD Property, with an estimated GDV of RM27 billion, covering Denai Alam, Bukit Subang, Elmina East and Elmina West.

Out of the 5,000 acres, about 300 acres are designated for Elmina Central Park located within the development in Elmina West — an extension of the existing 2,700 acres of forest reserve. 

The Elmina Central Park comprises of community park, forest park, cultural park, urban park and sports park, with each promoting the concept of wellness.

Since January last year, the TN50 youth initiative has reached out to more than 1.7 million Malaysian youths through dialogues, workshops and online channels collecting over 60,000 aspirations.

Meanwhile, Minister of Youth & Sports Khairy Jamaluddin believes the City of Elmina fulfils the aspirations through its all-inclusive master plan which will inspire other sustainable and revolutionary developments for the future.

“We applaud the initiative by SD Property to participate in the TN50, with the themed township for the future,” Khairy said.

Among the upcoming launches at the City of Elmina this year include the double-storey link homes and semi-detached units in Denai Alam, as well as the second phase of the Elmina Green double-storey link homes in Elmina West.

As to date, SD Property has built 23 townships and developments with a global reach encompassing assets and operations across the Asia Pacific region and the UK.
