PETALING JAYA (Feb 6): A revision of the commercial vehicle tax and toll charges at the Second Link between Johor and Singapore will be mooted at the Cabinet meeting tomorrow (Feb 7) in a bid to reduce congestion on the Causeway (pictured), reported The Star.

If approved, the reduced levy is expected to cut traffic down by at least 40%.

Statistics show that over 300,000 motorists ply the Causeway daily on weekdays, compared with 500,000 road users on weekends and public holidays.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the Prime Minister will announce the rates in due course.
