TTDI

PETALING JAYA (Feb 22): The owner of the site of a kindergarten at Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) that is at the heart of yet another development controversy in the neighbourhood is Amalan Setar (M) Sdn Bhd, EdgeProp.my has learned.

It is also the property developer of the proposed office building project at the site, which currently is a residential plot housing Tadika Diyana at Lorong Datuk Sulaiman 1, TTDI.

A check with Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) shows that on Sept 15, 2017, the company had applied for two adjacent parcels that make up the site to be combined, and for the site to subsequently be converted from residential use to commercial use.

On Jan 12, 2018, the developer had applied to build two seven-storey office buildings containing 72 units of shopoffices, with two levels of parking including one in the basement.

DBKL has yet to approve the project, pending objections from the local residents.

Established in 1997, Amalan Setar cuts its teeth on property development with Taman Pendamar Indah 2 in Klang, Selangor.

The developer has since developed other projects including Semenyih Parklands in Semenyih and Semenyih Parklands in Rinching.

Ongoing projects include Alamanda Parklands in Rawang, Sutera Parklands in Kajang and Taman Sutera in Raub, Pahang.

Interestingly, the developer is headquartered in Sinaran TTDI along Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad 3, TTDI.

The TTDI Residents’ Association (RA) is planning to submit its official objection letter to DBKL on Monday (Feb 26), fearing that the township will be overdeveloped.

The TTDI RA will be setting up a collection desk this Saturday (Feb 24) from 9am to 4pm at the main gate of Tadika Diyana for residents to submit their letters to DBKL to object the proposed office building and change of land use. The letter template can be downloaded here.
