KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 28): Tun Jeanne Abdullah, wife of former Malaysia Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, is now the chairman of TRC Synergy Bhd. Jeanne's redesignation follows Tan Sri Mohd Shahrom Nordin's resignation as TRC chairman.

In separate statements to Bursa Malaysia today, builder and property developer TRC said Jeanne's redesignation as chairman from independent director was effective since yesterday (Feb 27).

"Tun Jeanne Binti Abdullah will resume as chairman of TRC with effect from Feb 27, 2018. The Honourable Tun Jeanne Binti Abdullah is the wife to the former Prime Minister of Malaysia. She is now the Chancellor of Open University Malaysia, the chairman of Landscape Malaysia and Tropical Rainforest Conservation and Research Centre. She is also the executive chairman of Secretariat Malaysia Prihatin and Patron of the Malaysian Paralympic Council.

"Gen (R) Tan Sri Mohd Shahrom Nordin will resign as chairman to board of directors of TRC with effect from Feb 27, 2018. He is still the chairman to the audit committee of TRC," TRC said. — theedgemarkets.com
