KUALA LUMPUR (June 27): The Federal Territories Foundation (YWP) has clarified that it is not involved in the redevelopment of Pasar Besar Gombak here.

YWP was responding to an earlier report that said Pasar Besar Gombak would make way for a nine-storey commercial high-rise building and 44-storey residential block, reported The Star.

CEO Zaizalnizam Zainun also denied reports that YWP owned 64 plots of land obtained from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

The foundation operated on its own efforts and initiatives through the investment, business and real estate sectors, Zaizalnizam told The Star.

He also told the English daily that profits from its initiatives enabled the foundation “to undertake programmes in development, education, welfare, social and community well-being in the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan”.

Zaizalnizam also said that the foundation is neither a political entity nor affiliated to any political party.
