Dillon Tan Yong Chin

KUALA LUMPUR (July 3): Tropicana Corp Bhd executive director Dillon Tan Yong Chin has (pictured) resigned from his post with immediate effect, citing personal commitment.

He is the son of tycoon Tan Sri Danny Tan Chee Sing, the founder and major shareholder of Tropicana.

His brothers, Datuk Dickson Tan Yong Loong and Dion Tan Yong Chien, are the deputy group chief executive officer (CEO) and group managing director of Tropicana, respectively.

According to the property developer’s Annual Report 2017, Yong Chin, 35, was appointed to the board of directors of Tropicana on May 21, 2013.

He has been involved in the property and hospitality sector since 2006 and was based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 2009 to 2013. He returned to Malaysia for residence in 2013.

Yong Chin sits on the board of Tropicana Golf & Country Resort Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tropicana, as well as several private limited companies locally and in Vietnam.

In a separate filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Tropicana announced the appointment of Hafez Mohd Hashim Razman Md Hashim, 37, as independent and non-executive director of the group.

According to the filing, Hafez is the founder and group CEO of HMH Group.
