KUALA LUMPUR (July 3): Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak (pictured) has been arrested, according to police and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) sources.
The Star reported that Najib was arrested at his home in Langgak Duta at around 3pm today.
He is expected to be taken to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya, said The Malay Mail.
Other reports said Najib could be charged tomorrow for offences related to money-laundering.
Raids on homes linked to Najib in May have unearthed cash, luxury good and valuables worth more than RM1 billion.
Najib is also being probed over allegations that billions of ringgits were wrongfully taken from 1MDB, a sovereign wealth fund he founded.
Najib and 1MDB have denied any wrongdoing.
