KUALA LUMPUR (July 24): The Federal Government has put on hold four mega projects in Perlis, said Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Azlan Man.

Azlan told the media after the state legislative assembly today that the projects were Lembah Chuping Industrial Area (CVIA), Bukit Chabang Sports school, the Integrated Public Transport Terminal and Padang Besar Hospital, reported the New Straits Times (NST).

He said the state government had received the order through a postponement letter pending a review by the Finance Ministry.

Azlan also explained that projects that had less than 15% progress would be put on hold and reviewed.

“We have written a reply letter to the Federal Government asking for the matter to be relooked at as the decision would affect the people.

“It would be a loss as the development would not only benefit the people in Perlis, but Malaysians in general, as well as the Federal Government as it brings income to the government,” NST reported  Azlan saying.
