PETALING JAYA (Aug 22): It may be a public holiday for many but some Klang Valley folk were stuck for a while by faulty doors on an LRT train today.

More than 40 passengers at the Kelana Jaya Line SS18 station were late to their destinations when the doors to their train could not work, reported The Star today.

The daily also reported that a passenger sustained light injuries when the train stopped abruptly.

IT service analyst Farah, 26, who was travelling from Puchong Prima to Taman Jaya, told The Star that “such a malfunction has never happened before” and the incident made her late for work.

Putra Heights resident Vimala told the English daily that it was her first time using the LRT train and that the malfunction made her nervous about using this mode of transport again. "I did not expect this to happen," she said.

All passengers were transferred to a different train at 9.24am.

The train with the faulty doors has been sent for repairs.
