KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 23): Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin said that helping the B40 group to own a home and improve their livelihood will continue to be her focus, and the upcoming National Community Policy would help achieve the desired outcome.
Speaking at the Rehda Annual Dinner, she noted that the ministry has been engaging with banks and developers to find ways to make homeownership easier for the B40 segment.
She revealed that there will be a large homeownership expo set to be held in January or February next year, which will see developers giving attractive discounts and will help buyers looking for properties that suit their requirements and budget.
“By working with all stakeholders in the industry, I do not need to build one million houses to achieve the target [of encouraging homeownership],” said Zuraida.
She also stressed that the rollout of the National Community Policy and the upcoming Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes under the policy will help to improve the livelihood of the B40 group.
