KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 2): Mario Bastian Gross has resigned from his position as non-independent and non-executive director of Lafarge Malaysia Bhd.

The German national was appointed as the president and chief executive officer of Lafarge Malaysia on April 1 last year.

However seven months later, he was re-designated to the role of non-independent and non-executive director, as he was assigned to a new role within the Swiss LafargeHolcim Group.

Gross, 40, came over to Lafarge Malaysia from Sika AG. He started his career with Sika in 2000 and has global experience with roles across Germany, China, Thailand and Switzerland.
