PETALING JAYA (Jan 28): Maria Chin's son is reportedly 'out of danger" after undergoing surgery to treat a stab wound he sustained from a botched robbery yesterday.

Malaysiakini said the Petaling Jaya MP had texted that the surgery "went well and he is now under observation".

The 26-year-old was assaulted at a park in Taman Mayang Emas while out on a walk yesterday.

"He was having his evening walk and the guy came from the back. Pushed him down and slashed his arms before he stabbed him.

"Luckily a motorbike passed by and the robber ran off. My boys and I are traumatised," she told Malaysiakini.

In a report by The Star yesterday, Petaling Jaya Deputy OCPD Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said investigations were ongoing.
