SEMENYIH (Feb 22): The Malaysian Government has not secured the cooperation of an unnamed country to extradite fugitive financier Joh Low, Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said at a ceramah here last night.

"We are discussing (with the unnamed country) but until now, there is no trace of him.

"We know where he is but we cannot proceed with the matter to bring him back unless the country cooperates," he said, Malaysiakini reported.

Though Muhyiddin did not name the country, it is believed he was referring to China.

On Jan 13, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun Malaysian police held a meeting with the authorities in China to help find Low Taek Jho, also known as Jho Low, to face charges related to the 1MDB scandal.

Without divulging details on the meeting, Mohamad Fuzi said Low had yet to be found and efforts to locate him are still underway. — theedgemarkets.com
