KUALA LUMPUR (April 10): Pakatan Harapan MPs pointed out that Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak broke the embargo placed on the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda)'s white paper, when he made a Facebook post on the matter and shared a portion of the document on social media.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said serious action will be taken against Najib.

"[Najib] is not a newly-appointed people's representative, he was a prime minister. We will take action so that he will be reminded that no one is protected from regulations in the Parliament," he said in the Parliament lobby.

Earlier, Minister of Economic Affairs Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said he knows of the embargo breach, following a question by Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil asking whether he was aware that the former prime minister had posted a portion of the report online.

"How can a former prime minister make such a mistake, to leak an embargoed document? I have brought forward a motion to the Speaker so that stern action will be taken against him.

"This is a serious offence but to him, it is a relatively small offence," Mohamed Azmin said.
