KUALA LUMPUR (May 13): Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein (pictured) is “challenging” Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu and deputy minister Liew Chin Tong to prove that he benefitted from land swap deals, reported Malaysiakini yesterday.
"I challenge Mohamad and Liew to prove that I have personally benefited financially and politically.
"My advice to them both, if they live in glass houses, don't throw stones," the ex-defence minister said in a statement.
Mohamad revealed last week that 13 of the 16 land swap deals that took place during Barisan Nasional's rule of Putrajaya involved Hishammuddin as well as former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
"The political consideration was above the interest of the government," Mohamad said of the land deals.
It was also reported earlier that 16 of the defence ministry’s projects suffered more than RM500 million losses owing to mismanagement and other factors.
