PUTRAJAYA (June 13): Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali’s political secretary, Hilman Idham stated today that he did meet with Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz before the latter confessed about being video-taped having sex with a man whom he claimed was the minister, reported Malaysiakini today.

"It's true," Hilman told the media here when asked about Haziq's claim that they [he and Haziq] met at the Zest Restaurant in Marriot Putrajaya prior to the confession video going public.

Hilman, however, did not want to comment on Haziq's claim that he had asked the latter to deny that it was Azmin in the gay sex video.

"It's okay. I have given everything to the police, let the police investigate," the news portal reported Hilman saying.

Haziq, who is the aide to Primary Industries Deputy Minister Datuk Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin, earlier today said in a Facebook posting that Hilman “forced me to deny that it was you (Azmin) in the viral video and asked me to lie for you.”

“I asked for more time to consult my parents and this angered him. After I refused he made threats and said ‘this’ will be shut down within 48 hours with or without my help to lie.”

“It broke me that Azmin Ali, the man I looked up to choose to tie his loose ends rather than owning up to his mistakes.

“I know you are a sick man because only you could have recorded the videos for personal collection after inviting me to your hotel room on all occasions,” Haziq went on in his posting.

Azmin has already denied yesterday that he was in the sex videos being made viral by unknown parties.

PKR vice-president and Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin described the videos as “character assassination”.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has called the videos fake and said those who created them had a political motive.
