KUALA LUMPUR (July 5): Seacera Group Bhd has been served with a winding up statutory notice for RM15.53 million, it announced on Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

The group has been served the notice by AS Gill, Thong & Agnes on behalf of Suong Sdn Bhd demanding payment for outstanding rental, goods and services tax and agreed liquidated damages over breaches of its tenancy agreement dated Aug 4, 2016 for its factory in Selayang, Selangor.

If the RM15.53 million is not settled within 21 days of the date of receipt, Seacera will be deemed unable to pay, and winding up proceedings may be initiated against the company.

Seacera said except for the alleged claim on the liquidated ascertained damages, the rental amount had been fully paid for.
