Country Garden Malaysia appoints Su Bai Yuan as regional president

PETALING JAYA (Jan 16): Guangdong-based property developer Country Garden Group has appointed Su Bai Yuan (pictured) as regional president for Malaysia and Singapore, announced Country Garden Malaysia in a statement today.

Su Bai Yuan was CEO of Country Garden’s Forest City, the largest development of the China property giant in Malaysia. He is also Hong Kong-listed Country Garden Holdings Co Ltd’s executive director.

“In order to cultivate the Malaysian market and have a unified interface within all sectors, Country Garden’s business operations in Malaysia and the Forest City development project have now been integrated as ‘Malaysia-Singapore Region’,” the company said in response to a query by EdgeProp.my following news of Jason Fu’s resignation as Country Garden Malaysia regional president.

The statement also noted that the Malaysia-Singapore region will adapt its operations to align with the company's long-term vision.

Fu, who was overseeing the Malaysia and Singapore operations served his last day with Country Garden Malaysia yesterday (Jan 15).

According to the company, Fu resigned from the company to focus on personal pursuits.

“We wish to express our gratitude to Mr Fu for his contribution in the past four and a half years leading the operations in Malaysia and Singapore and we wish him well. We look forward to maintaining our friendship with him which has been fostered through the years,” the company added.
