Thinking of romantic outings with the special someone this Valentine season? Here are Tourism Selangor’s top 5 spots for a date to remember:

1) The Secret Garden

Surprise your partner by taking them to the ‘secret garden’, a garden not like any other in Malaysia. Located on the rooftop of One Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, the Secret Garden is a lush tropical garden housing more than 600 types and species of plants. It is one of the largest rooftop gardens in Southeast Asia.

Take a stroll through the exotic green haven before a romantic dinner, or at night when it is cooler and you and your loved one could gaze at the night sky.

The Instagram-worthy spot opens every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 10am to 10pm.

2) Malaysia National Ice Skating Stadium (MYNISS)

This ice-skating rink located in Empire City, Petaling Jaya was the venue of the SEA Games 2017’s winter sports. A coach from Hungary once said that it is by far the most beautiful ice skating rink he has ever seen. For those into ice-skating, the Olympic-sized, 1,800 sq m rink offers a unique venue for some fun and excitement this Valentine’s Day.

3) Kuala Selangor’s Fireflies

“You light up my life” so the song goes. You don’t have to sing the song but you can both visit the fireflies at Kampung Kuantan in Kuala Selangor.

Ride on a traditional sampan or an electrically powered fiberglass boat and watch in pitch darkness and silence, the thousands of fireflies sparkle like fairy lights along the banks of the Selangor River.

Flash photography is not permitted as it can distract the fireflies but there is really no need for cameras as you share this special moment that won’t be easily forgotten.

4) Signature by the Hill

This would be a great spot for a cozy romantic dinner. Signature by the Hill @ The Roof is located at the Sky Floor of First Avenue in Petaling Jaya. Enjoy the gastro-pub restaurant’s Asian and International fusion cuisine surrounded by panoramic views of the city.

5) Farm in the City

Melt the coldest heart with the adoring looks from the cute animals at the Farm in the City in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

With a setting resembling a typical Malaysian kampung, visitors can interact and have fun with the many rare and exotic animals found in this petting zoo.

Inspired yet? There are so many more places you can go and things you can do with your Valentine, so go ahead and make that date already!
