KUALA LUMPUR (March 25): The health director-general (DG) Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has confirmed that Teluk Intan Hospital in Perak has been shut down because 37 staff have tested positive for COVID-19.

Speaking to reporters in Putrajaya, the DG said the total number of healthcare workers confirmed with COVID-19 infections is 73, of whom 37 staff were from Teluk Intan Hospital.

“Teluk Intan Hospital has been closed for cleaning, disinfection and others, but it will reopen after that.

“We hope we can [send] the doctors from other places to the hospital,” he said.
