Rental waived for Tropicana Gardens Mall tenants during MCO

PETALING JAYA (Mar 27): Tenants of Tropicana Gardens Mall, Kota Damansara, Selangor, will see their rentals waived for the duration of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

In a media statement today, the mall’s developer, Tropicana Corp Bhd, said it will help ease the tenants’ financial burden amidst the COVID-19 outbreak so that they can, in turn, assist their employees.

The MCO, which was imposed by the government, began on Mar 18 and was extended to April 14, 2020.

According to the developer, all tenants offering non-essential trade and services at Tropicana Gardens Mall need not pay rent from March 18 till April 14, 2020.

“This waiver applies to all businesses at Tropicana Gardens Mall that have been opened since the mall began operations on Mar 5, 2020. 

“As these are unprecedented times experienced by all Malaysians. Tropicana believes that many will be impacted significantly over the next few months.

“In this regard, the group would like to support its tenants by waiving their rent for those affected or unable to operate during this period of uncertainties,” the statement said.
