KUALA LUMPUR (March 28): A patient suspected with COVID-19 infection has reportedly killed himself after being admitted to an isolation ward at Serdang Hospital, a China Press report said yesterday.

According to the report, the incident occurred at about 7pm yesterday in a washroom.

The China Press report said the 62-year old male victim was admitted to the ward at 2.30am yesterday due to his symptoms, while his test result was still pending.

A nurse later noticed the patient had spent too much time in the washroom and went in to investigate, only to find that the patient already dead.

The report quoted Sepang police chief Wan Kamarul Azran saying that police did not find any suicide note at the scene.

The scene has been sealed pending forensic investigation, and the case is classified as sudden death.
