KUCHING: Police here arrested three men carrying drugs, a mask depicting the face of Pennywise the clown, and a toy gun after a high-speed chase yesterday afternoon, Free Malaysia Today reported today.

The report citing the police said the trio, aged 25 to 33, had prior convictions for drugs and theft.

A police patrol car had spotted their vehicle along Jalan Central Timur at 1.10pm, and attempted to intercept it to question the occupants.

However, instead of slowing down, the driver sped off.

“The suspects sped away to avoid arrest along Jalan Tun Abdul Rahman Yaakub and almost hit a back-up police vehicle.

“Police later managed to block the suspect’s vehicle along Jalan Depo following which the three attempted to flee on foot, with one of them tossing a bag on the ground,” Kuching district police chief ASP Awang Din Awang Gani told Free Malaysia Today.

Four packets of crystal meth were found inside the bag.

Awang Din said the three suspects were brought to the police station for further investigation.

They are being investigated under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the local Infected Areas) Regulations 2020 and the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
