KUALA LUMPUR (April 9): A thief sneaked into a unit on the 19th floor of an apartment building in Taman Daya, Johor Bahru last week through an open toilet window.

The owner had told Sinchew Daily yesterday that there was no one in the house when the incident happened.

“The burglar rummaged through our apartment and stole a laptop, spare keys to the unit and car keys. The burglar also drank some of our wine,” she said. She had instantly replaced the locks to the unit and installed an iron grill to the toilet window following the incident.

The unit owner said only residents on the same floor could use their access cards in the elevators to reach the floor hence she has asked the building management to carry out investigations and strengthen security at the apartment building. A police report has also been lodged.
