KUALA LUMPUR (May 6): When the soldiers started putting up barbed wire in Taman Wilayah and Taman Desa Bakti, Selayang, on May 5, all thought the enhanced movement control order has arrived but that turned out not to be so.

“Not yet, as long as I have not made the announcement, there is no EMCO. However, there is an administrative restriction there. Maybe we control it with barbed wires and such but we have not declared those areas as EMCO,” Senior Minister (Security Cluster) and Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob clarified.

“But there is tighter control to going in and out of those areas. And we are also conducting swab tests for every resident in that area even though it is still under administrative control,” he added.
