PETALING JAYA (May 18): Former Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad (pictured) has revealed that his former political secretary has been arrested by police, say reports from The Star and Free Malaysia Today (FMT).

"My former political secretary Hj Azli was remanded by the police yesterday over a complaint that an architectural company was given a fake 'DO' by a broker," he posted on Twitter yesterday (May 17).

DO is “believed” to be a development order.

"I can't say more than that because the case is still under police investigation. I have been told that the broker in question had received millions of ringgit by using the name (of the ex-aide). The belief that 'cash is king' could have led to him being successful.

"Rich broker, but the name that was sold was wronged," Khalid added in his post.

FMT reported yesterday that Bukit Aman cops “had launched an investigation into allegations of corruption involving a former minister from the previous Pakatan Harapan government.

The news portal stated that investigation involve “allegations of bribery involving several developers in the capital”.

Bukit Aman CCID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Zakaria Ahmad told The Star: "At this point, I can only confirm that three people have been arrested based on a complaint by an architect."
