KUALA LUMPUR (May 18): More than 40 lots at the Pasar Besar Taman Tun Dr Ismail have been closed by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) from tomorrow until June 1.

According to a notice issued by DBKL, traders operating lots TS1-TS40, TS33A, TS34A and TS131 must have to close until June 1 while the rest are allowed to operate as usual.

The notice also said enforcement can be taken under the Local Government Act 1976, the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, the Police Act 1967, and the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infectious Territory) 2020.

“The Health Ministry screened some traders for Covid-19 and are awaiting results. The closures are a precautionary measure,” a DBKL spokesman told The Star.
