KUALA LUMPUR (June 12): BMW Group Malaysia has revised the prices of its BMW, Mini and BMW Motorrad products to exclude the sales tax on all completely knocked-down (CKD) models for the period of June 15 to Dec 31, 2020.

This follows the government’s announcement in its Economic Recovery Plan on June 5 to exempt sales tax of 100% for locally assembled passenger vehicles, and 50% for imported passenger vehicles purchased during the period.

In a statement today, BMW said in line with this announcement, it will fully waive the sales tax on its CKD vehicles to 0% from the current 10%, while the sales tax for the fully imported (CBU) models will be halved to 5%.

“The new sales tax incentives are only applicable for new vehicle registrations from June 15, 2020 to Dec 31, 2020,” the group said.

BMW’s 320i Sport and 330i M sport will now cost RM241,794.40, and RM286,187.48 respectively.

The 630i GT M Sport, 740Le xDrive and 840i Gran Coupe M Sport will cost RM418,131.09, RM569,052.87 and RM937,411.23 respectively.

For the Mini models in the peninsular region, the Mini Cooper S 3 door now costs RM240,777.56 after the sales deduction.

Meanwhile, the new MINI Cooper S Clubman is priced at RM287,725.61.

On the other hand, the MINI Countryman Pure, MINI Countryman Sports and the MINI Countryman Blackheath Edition now cost RM220,741.14, RM 239,280.38 and RM244,280.38 respectively.
