KUALA LUMPUR (June 23): Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (pictured) has revealed that he will not take on a senior minister or minister mentor’s post if Pakatan Harapan captures Putrajaya again, reported Sin Chew Daily today.

“No, I will not accept it,” he told the Chinese language daily in an interview today.

Earlier, PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that even though he will not agree to Dr Mahathir being prime minister again for six months if PH forms the Federal government, he is “open” to giving the former PM an advisory role in a the cabinet

“They talk about a senior minister (or a) minister-mentor a la Lee Kuan Yew. I’m open to a discussion,” Anwar told a Singapore broadcaster.

Dr Mahathir said that no one would listen to his advice.

“Whenever I advise a prime minister (Abdullah Badawi, Najib Razak or Muhyiddin Yassin), they never take my advice,” he explained to Sin Chew Daily.

He added that a prime minister has “to take charge of everything and leave his own legacy”.

“A prime minister should not have to say ‘I got my legacy from Tun’,” Dr Mahathir said.
