Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad celebrates 95th birthday today

PETALING JAYA (July 10): Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is 95 years old today. The man who was prime minister of Malaysia twice, Dr Mahathir also held the post the longest for 22 years.

According to a report by Malaysiakini, he is married to Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali for 64 years (since 1956), with whom he has seven children.

Among the children are former Kedah menteri besar, Mukhriz; social activist Marina; and businessperson Mokhzani, stated the news portal.

FMT reported that birthday greetings came from another former PM, Datuk Seri Najib Razak who wrote Twitter: “Semoga Tun Dr Mahathir dilimpahkan rahmat, ketenangan, kesihatan dan dilanjutkan usia.

“Happy 95th birthday, sir.”

Former deputy women, family and community development minister and Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh also wished Dr Mahathir happy birthday in her Facebook posting, stated the same report.

“I may never live till I’m 95, but I know even if I do, I cannot do what you have done in the last few years – persistent in fighting those involved in 1MDB.

“Happiest 95th Birthday Tun,” said Yeoh.
