KUALA LUMPUR (July 23): MyHSR Corp Sdn Bhd has appointed Tan Sri Esa Mohamed as its chairman effective July 15, replacing Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa.

An architect and planner by background, Esa, who is the founder and executive chairman of Akitek Jururancang (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, brings experience in the areas of planning and implementation of mega projects including the Tun Razak Exchange master plan, the Kuala Lumpur International Airport buildings architectural and master plan, the Federal Administrative Capital City of Putrajaya master plan, the Sungai Buloh Hospital, the Pagoh educational hub and the KL Convention Centre, said MyHSR Corp CEO Datuk Mohd Nur Ismal Mohamed Kamal in a statement.

Esa was also the elected president of the International Union of Architects (Union Internationale des Architectes-UIA) for the 2014-2017 term, becoming the first Malaysian to hold the position. He was a member of the Board of Architects Malaysia and was the president of Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) from 1993 to 1995.
