PETALING JAYA (August 3): For those who was being fined for not wearing masks in private vehicles, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob now assured that they do not need to pay the fines as the police will be cancelling the fines, reported Malay Mail.
“I already spoke to the police and the Ministry of Health (MOH), the police will cancel the fines [they have issued to those who didn’t wear face masks in private vehicles],” he said during a press conference at Parliament today.
According to the report, for those who have paid their fines to MOH, they could claim back their payments.
“Private vehicles are not public transport. If we are bringing our family in the car, there’s no need to wear face masks as it is a private vehicle.” he stressed.
