KUALA LUMPUR (Sep 25): Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah (pictured) will not be granting an audience to anyone for a week, a palace official told Reuters today.

This is because he is still under observation in hospital, the report added.

“His Majesty has been advised by his doctors to remain at (hospital) for seven days for observation. So until then, he will not have any meetings,” palace comptroller Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin told Reuters.

It was reported on Tuesday the King was admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) as he was feeling unwell.

Istana Negara later also announced that PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s scheduled audience with the Agong was postponed as His Majesty was unwell.

Anwar on Wednesday announced that he had garnered “formidable and convincing” support from among MPs to form a new federal government to replace the ruling government.

Anwar also revealed that he had received consent to have an audience with the Agong on Tuesday, but the audience was postponed after His Majesty was admitted to IJN for treatment.
