KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 30): MP Fahmi Fadzil (pictured) will be undergoing quarantine at home after it was discovered that a staff member from his office tested positive for Covid-19, said news reports.

“One of my office staff members who just returned from Sabah on Sept 25 has been confirmed as Covid-19 positive and has been taken to Hospital Sungai Buloh for treatment and isolation.

“According to the standard operating procedure of the Health Ministry and district health office of Lembah Pantai, seeing that the staff member was a close contact, the rest of my staff and I have gone to the Tanglin health clinic for Covid-19 screening.

“We will be undergoing home quarantine according to the time period instructed by the Lembah Pantai district health office,” the Lembah Pantai lawmaker wrote in a Facebook posting on Wednesday (Sept 30).

Fahmi’s office will therefore be closed until the home quarantine order is completed. Meanwhile, a decontamination team would also be sent to the premises for sanitising works.

“For now, if the people of Lembah Pantai have any matters to bring up to the office, they can contact us on our Facebook page or through email.

“Any inconvenience is deeply regretted. Please pray that we are safe from the Covid-19 virus,” he added.
