KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 14): Genting Malaysia Bhd's Resorts World Genting (RWG) will remain open as usual, according to a notice on its website today.

"We refer to the announcement made by the government on Oct 12, 2020 that Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya will be placed under the CMCO from Oct 14 to Oct 27, 2020. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide necessary updates as more information becomes available. RWG remains open as usual.

"Guests from the affected areas who have made reservations at RWG from Oct 14 to Oct 27, 2020 may contact our call centre at 03-27181118 or write to [email protected] to request for a change of date or refund. We appreciate your patience and kind understanding while we attend to your requests during this period," the notice read.

RWG also said it has been continuously conducting deep cleaning and thorough sanitisation throughout its premises, as well as adhering to the strict standard operating procedures, or SOPs, issued by the government.

“This includes observing physical distancing, wearing face masks and adopting good personal hygiene practices. We will continue to do so to ensure the health and safety of all our guests and employees,” it added.

The hilltop casino, which was shut for three months from March 18 due to the MCO, resumed operations from June 19.

At the time of writing, Genting Malaysia shares were down one sen or 0.49% at RM2.02, valuing the counter at RM11.99 billion. Year to date, the counter has fallen 38.6% from when it was trading at RM3.29.
