PETALING JAYA (Oct 16): Restaurants/eateries in Selangor will be allowed to have a maximum of five people per “big” table with physical distancing in place, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari clarified today via Twitter.

The five persons will have to be seated on a table “that can usually fit 10 people before Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) were introduced”, the Malay Mail reported Amirudin saying.

“Many have been asking me about the number of people allowed per table when dining in a restaurant.

“The State government has agreed during discussions with the National Security Council and head of the Local Authorities to allow bigger tables to sit a maximum of five people (for tables usually meant for 10 people),” he explained.

Selangor’s five persons per big table, however, does not apply to eateries in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, where the maximum number is just four.
