PETALING JAYA (Oct 22): An employee of SOGO Department Store at Central i-City in Shah Alam, Selangor was tested positive for Covid-19, according to a statement released by Central i-City yesterday.

“The unfortunate news was confirmed on Oct 21. The said employee has not reported for work since 16 Oct 2020 and is now being treated at a dedicated government hospital,” the mall management said.

SOGO has been closed from 4.30pm yesterday for deep cleaning and sanitisation work, and all its staff will undergo swab testing.

“SOGO will remain closed for the time being and we will advise their business resumption in due time,” Central i-City said yesterday.

Central i-City was also closed from 8pm yesterday to undertake a thorough cleaning and sanitising at the affected areas, as well as the entire shopping centre, including walkways, elevators, escalator handrails, toilets and parking areas – all in accordance with guidelines set by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Security Council (NSC).
